Sourcing

Learn how to use Lev Agent's Sourcing workflow to find company and contact prospects for business development.

Updated August 2026

Sourcing is a workflow Lev Agent runs to identify prospects at the company level or the contact level, based on criteria you provide, like specialization in a particular asset type. You can start a sourcing search from the Sourcing tab on the left side of the platform homepage, or by changing the Agent's prompt type to Sourcing from any location. The workflow runs dedicated search logic built for CRE prospecting, so the Agent knows what information to look for and the most direct way to find it. Any prospect in the results can be added straight to your CRM or to a pipeline for tracking leads.

Prospect types

Lev Agent can source prospects at either the company level or the contact level, depending on the type of business development work you're doing. A company-level search returns organizations sorted into one of the categories below.

Sourcing prospect types
  • Lender — Provides financing for property transactions. Examples include banks, debt funds, credit unions, and insurance companies.
  • Sponsor — Owners, developers, and operators of commercial assets, such as private equity groups or boutique management companies.
  • Brokerage — General brokerage firms that offer multiple strategies for facilitating CRE transactions.
  • Equity — Equity investors in commercial assets, like family offices or institutional equity providers.
  • Finance Broker — Brokerage firms that specialize in arranging debt financing for commercial properties.
  • Investment Sales Broker — Brokers who specialize in facilitating commercial property sales.
  • Legal — Law firms active in CRE.
  • Buyer — Active purchasers of commercial properties.
  • Seller — Active sellers of commercial properties.

At the contact level, the Agent looks for individuals who are more closely linked to your search criteria, and includes a verified email address for each name it returns. A company-level search for investment sales brokerages, for example, is useful for identifying the players active in a space, but a contact-level search will find the broker at each firm who specializes in multifamily properties in southern Miami.

Running sourcing queries

Once you know the type of prospects you're looking for, use Sourcing to have Lev Agent run the search and return results you can act on immediately. Start by clicking into the Sourcing tab on the left side of the platform, or by changing the Agent's prompt type to Sourcing from any location.

Running a sourcing query with Lev Agent
  • Specify the prospect type — Tell the Agent whether you're sourcing at the company level or the contact level.
  • Add search criteria — Include details like the prospect's market/location or property type specialization to point the Agent in the right direction.
  • Answer follow-up questions — Respond to any clarifying questions the Agent asks.
  • Review the results — Let the Agent run the search, then review the output.
  • Add prospects to your CRM — Decide whether to add any contacts or companies as leads in your CRM, or to a leads pipeline to track outreach.

Any entries you add to your CRM include labels that match the labels already in use on your existing entries, so your CRM stays consistent.

Companies and contacts have different leads pipelines they can be added to. Make sure you place each entry in the corresponding pipeline.
