Add Files to a Deal

Learn how to add files to deals through upload, existing files, or multiple deal attachment.

Updated December 2025

Files can be added to a Deal by uploading them directly to the Deal, adding existing files from All Files, or adding the same file to multiple Deals. Files added to a Deal remain internal to your team until you share them through a Vault.

Add Files from All Files

Use this method to attach an existing file to one or more Deals.

  1. Open Files

Click Files in the sidebar to open the library.

You're on the All Files page with your library visible.
  2. Trigger Add to Deal

In the file row, click Add to Deal.

    A Deal picker opens.
  3. Select one or more Deals

Check each Deal you want to attach the file to, then confirm.

The file is added to each selected Deal and marked with corresponding Deal badges.

Add Files from the Deal Page

You can also add existing files to a Deal from within the Deal itself.

  1. Open the Deal's Resources tab

Open the Deal and go to Resources.

You see the Deal's current resources.
  2. Add from All Files

Click Add Content, then Add from All Files.

A file picker opens, scoped to your library.
  3. Search and add

Search for the file and click Add.

The file appears on the Deal and in All Files, with a Deal badge showing where it is used. Deal files remain internal to the Deal Team until you add them to a Vault.

Upload Files Directly to a Deal

This is the fastest option when the file is Deal-specific. Files uploaded to a Deal are still accessible from the All Files page.

  1. Open the Deal's Resources tab

Open the Deal and go to Resources.

You're ready to add new content to the Deal.
  2. Start a document upload

Click Add Content, then Upload Documents.

The upload dialog opens with a dropzone and picker.
  3. Select and upload files

Click the upload area, or drag and drop files onto it.

Files begin uploading and appear in the staging list.
  4. Categorize each document

After upload, select a Type from the dropdown to categorize each document. Common document types include:

    • Market Analysis — Market reports and comparables
    • Financial Statements — Income statements, balance sheets
    • Property Information — Surveys, photos, floor plans
    • Legal Documents — Contracts, agreements, title reports
    • Environmental Reports — Phase I/II assessments
Files are tagged with the correct type, making them easier to find later.
  5. Save

Click Save to complete the upload.

Uploaded files are live on the Deal.

Selecting the correct document type helps organize your files and makes them easier to find later. You can drag and drop files directly onto the upload area for faster uploading.
