Introduction
It's essential to structure content side-by-side to create visually engaging Memos and use whitespace well. In Lev Memo, column grids make this easy.
Column grids arrange content side-by-side horizontally. Outside of smart layouts, this is the only way to place content horizontally.
Add a column grid
Via slash command or Insert menu
- Trigger the insert - Type
/columnto search the column options, or click the + Insert icon and search for the column options. - Pick a layout - Choose between a 2 Column, 3 Column, or 4 Column grid layout.
Drag an item to the right of another
- Grab the drag handle - Click the drag handle of the component you want to place beside another.
- Drop at the right edge - Drag the component to the right-most edge of the component you want in the left column.
- Release - Drop to create the 2 column grid.
Click to add text beside an image
- Click beside the image - Click the area to the right of an image where you see "click to add text".
- Start typing - Begin entering text — a column layout forms automatically.
Edit a grid
Add or remove a column
- Add — click the + button on the right-most border of the column grid layout.
- Remove — click the horizontal ⋯ in the top border of the column you want to delete, then click the trash icon.
Style a column
Style the entire grid or a single column independently.
- Style the entire grid — click the vertical ⋯ menu to the left of the top-left corner of the column grid.
- Style a single column — click the horizontal ⋯ in the top border of the column you want.
Styling options
- Vertical Alignment — top, center, or bottom
- Background Color — set a background color for the column
- Add / Update Image — bring up the image library to set a background image
- Border — location, color, stroke weight, and style
- Corner Radius — from sharp to circular

What can I add to a column?
- Any type of component, whether that's text, images, galleries, smart layouts, or even another column-grid layout!
I get an Application Error while creating / editing my grid, what should I do?
- We are aware of this intermittent issue and are working with our 3rd-party library to address this. Refresh your Memo and you should see the edit to the grid still succeed.
