Lev Memo turns deal data and underwriting into a branded offering memorandum in minutes instead of days. This guide walks through the full process end to end. All Memos are tied to deals on the Lev platform. You'll need to already have your deal created to build the OM, or you can create the deal in tandem.
Building the draft
To start building your Memo, click Create a Memo under Quick Actions from the Deal Overview page. You can also ask Lev Agent from any other location on the platform — you'll just need to confirm the deal you're building a Memo for.
This will start a conversation with Lev Agent where you'll confirm the desired contents of the Memo together.
- Pick a starting point — Start from scratch or use a template.
- Select the OM type — Choose the OM type that most closely matches the transaction, such as a Debt OM or Equity Memo.
- Set up your brand design library if needed — If you haven't configured colors and fonts yet, you'll have the option to set up your brand design library.
- Upload deal documents — If there isn't enough usable information related to the property or transaction, the agent asks you to upload files such as a rent roll or T12 so it can run deal fact extraction. This process helps the agent identify the key pieces of the deal that it should include throughout the Memo. For more on indexing and fact extraction, see Extracting Data into Index.
- Run fact extraction — Let the agent extract key deal information to use in the Memo.
- Review the outline — Check how many of the recommended deal facts the agent extracted from the attachments, toggle which slides appear in the OM or rearrange the order, and click Request changes to tell the agent how to update the outline in plain English.
- Approve and build — Approve the outline's format once you're ready and the agent will start creating the Memo. You can monitor its progress directly from the chat window.
- Open the Memo editor — Click View Memo to open the Memo editor page.
Editing the OM
Editing the OM lets you refine content and design elements after the draft is built. This section is a quick overview of the edits you can make to slides and color schemes. For a more in-depth guide, see Add or Edit Content or Edit Theme Settings.
- Edit slide content — Change the content of individual slides, such as adding a new table or editing a text box.
- Alter slide order — Add, reorder, or remove any existing slides.
- Adjust theme settings — Edit the color scheme, fonts, text size, and other aesthetic aspects under theme settings. These can apply to individual slides or the entire Memo.
- Sync updated index data — If Index data is updated outside the document, click Sync to bring that new data into the Memo.
- Save as template — Save the Memo as a template to reuse this format again.
Publish and share
Publishing the Memo lets the system know the document is ready to be viewed by other parties. It becomes accessible in any deal vaults you add it to and downloadable.
- Publish the Memo — Click Publish when the document is ready.
- Choose whether to add it to a vault — When you publish, you can choose to add the Memo to a vault or not.
- Access without a vault — If you don't add it to a vault, the document is still accessible from the Deal Overview page or the Resources page.
