Overview

Every file you upload to Lev appears in All Files, your personal view of your company's shared file library. From there, you choose how the file should be used: keep it private to yourself, make it visible to your company, attach it to one or more Deals, or add it to a Vault for external sharing. Files uploaded anywhere—All Files, a Deal, or a Vault—always remain accessible through All Files so you can move or reuse them later.

Upload to All Files (shared or private)

Upload to All Files when you want to store a file in your library without immediately attaching it to a Deal. After uploading, you choose whether the file is visible to your company or private to you.

1. **Open Shared or Private Files.** In the sidebar, open the **Files** menu and choose either **Shared Files** (visible to your company) or **Private Files** (visible only to you). This is where the file will land after upload.
2. **Click Add Content → Upload File.** In the top-right of the files list, click **Add Content** and pick **Upload File** from the menu. The upload dialog opens.
3. **Pick a file.** Browse your computer for the file or drag and drop it into the upload area. Lev supports **PDF**, **Excel/CSV**, **Word**, and image formats.
4. **Click Save.** Hit **Save** to finalize the upload. Shared files are visible to everyone in your company; private files stay visible only to you.

Upload directly to a Deal

Upload to a Deal when the file should appear immediately in the Deal's Resources section and be accessible to the Deal Team.

1. **Open the Deal.** From your dashboard, click into the deal you want the file to live on.
2. **Go to Resources.** In the deal's left sidebar, click **Resources** — the internal home for every file the Deal Team has attached to this deal.
3. **Click Add Content → Upload File.** Click **Add Content** in the top-right, then **Upload File**. Select a file from your computer or drag and drop it into the dialog.
4. **Click Save.** Hit **Save**. The file stays internal to the Deal Team until you add it to a Vault.

Upload directly to a Vault

Uploading a file inside a Vault adds it to All Files, attaches it to the Deal, and gives access to anybody you've shared that Vault with immediately. This is the most direct way to make a file available externally.

Recommended files to upload

**Essential documents:**

- Rent roll
- Operating statements (T12, T3)
- Property photos
- Site plan / Floor plans

**Nice to have:**

- Appraisal
- Environmental reports
- Title documents
- Existing loan docs (for refinance)

**Supported formats:** PDF (recommended), Excel/CSV, Word documents, and images (JPG, PNG).

PDF format is preferred — it preserves formatting across devices. Compress large files to speed up uploads. Keep file names clear and descriptive so lenders can quickly find what they need.
